I have often been in a situation of seeing landscapes from a quickly passing river boat at a time of day of the most unappealing light.  A current project is to re-imagine these scenes as if experienced in a more leisurely fashion with a paintbrush and canvas.  Changing things with software is always a bit controversial, and a matter of taste, so feel free to comment.
