This is another of my photos from the trip to Seaton Delaval Hall in September, and has been awarded 3rd place in the annual photography competition relating to the Heritage Open Days all over England.
The theme of the competition was Power. This arch was included in John Dobson’s restoration of the fire damaged Hall in 1859. Not sure, if Power is quite the right word, but it has kept up the shell of the building, even though the walls are in a state of disrepair. The judges felt it corresponded to the theme, anyway and thought the image was well lit and composed.
