In an attempt to find more of a sense of “vision” in my photography, and get the “right brain” engaged, I attended a workshop at the Ouseburn on an extremely hot day last month with a photographer called Mark Banks. There was encouragement to be a bit more mindful in connecting with the surroundings, and in taking time to wander, to look around for possible pleasing compositions, and to think. There was no temptation to rush with the technical setting up of shots either with heat induced lethargy, so there was plenty of time to give due consideration to aperture, focus and exposure as well.

Another scorcher of an afternoon saw me at North shields Royal Quays, where I had some fun with the detail of the Tyne Anew sculpture

This was in complete contrast to a previous image of it taken on a cloudy evening

These are a great set of images, Susan. I love the compositions and the colours within each image work really well together. 🙂
These images are great. A totally different style to your usual.
